Make Your Own Sphere Fountains For Indoors
Garden sphere fountains are a joy to have
around in any garden or backyard. However did you know that you can make your own sphere water fountain for
your rooms inside the house?
Apart from being used by homeowners to enhance their own backyard and patio, these
fountains are easily seen in garden of commercial buildihngs, or in the lobby or reception area of a
business. The sphere fountains are there for a peaceful enjoyment of simply looking at them and becoming calm and
serene, forgetting for a few minutes the everyday stress that surrounds us all.
If you want to have your own sphere water fountain indoors, you can easily make one since the
commercial types are too big for a regular room in the house. So here are a few steps to get you started with
making your own sphere water fountas.
What you need:
-
Small marble ball
-
Stone or rock base that has a drilled hole in the middle
-
Submersible pum that allows water to pass through at 80-120 gallons of water per hour
-
Narrow tube that fits the pump opening
-
A bowl that will hold the fountain
-
Pebbles to decorate your shere fountain
How to make it:
- Have the bowl ready and nicely cleaned. Check that the rock base is drilled through without any blocked
areas
- Put the water pump in the bowl. The pump should haev the water flow set on 'high'
- Add water in the bowl enough to cover the pump and check that the pump works fine. Switch it off once you
make sure that it is functional.
- Put the rock base on the top of the pump sprout. Should the pump be too wide, take the tube to pass throgh
the drilled base.
- Cut the extra tube that comes out on the other end so the end doesn't show through
- Switch the pump on to see if there is water flowing through the base. Switch it off.
- Add the marble on the top of the base and switch on the pump again. If all works ok the marble should turn
as the water hits it.
- If the marble doesn't rotate, you might need a ligher marble or the pump should have a higher gph
capacity.
- Once you're sure that the marble turns and the water flows nicely, add various pebbles and other decorative
elements to the sides of your bowl. You can even add moss or mosaic for extra pep.
- For maintenance check the water level on a regular basis and if the water evaporates, add some more to
recoup the lost water. Keep the bowl clean of any debris or anything that might clog the pump and stop it from
working.
